Job summary

Lake Huron Medical Center is a 139-bed community hospital delivering inpatient and outpatient care across emergency, stroke, cancer, surgical services and rehabilitation. The RN works nights in an ICU setting, applying the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while guiding patients and families.

Qualifications include current state RN license, BLS, ACLS; CC RN and BSN preferred. Per diem position with the hospital's patient-centered approach and commitment to quality care.

Qualifications

• Active state RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Critical care experience or coursework preferred.
• CCRN certification preferred; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe patient care using nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Deliver care in the ICU and communicate changes in patient condition to physicians.
• Educate patients and families while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients; He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
