Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore is seeking Registered Nurses for the Surgical PCU, a fast-paced 32-bed unit. The role requires an Associate degree in Nursing and an active Maryland or Compact RN license, with BLS CPR certification.

Qualifications

• BLS CPR certification is required across all RN roles.
• New graduate RNs are eligible and training is provided.
• Maryland RN license or Compact license is required to practice in Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on the Surgical PCU, a 32-bed unit.
• Monitor patient status, telemetry, and IMC-level care as needed.
• Collaborate with charge nurses, unit staff, and physicians to ensure high-quality care.
• Participate in the Nurse Residency Program for new grads.

Job Details:

The Surgical PCU is a 32-bed, fast-paced general surgical unit composed of three levels of care: unmonitored, telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC). Our unit houses a multitude of services, including but not limited to Urology, Thoracic, Plastics and Trauma. Registered Nurses (RNs) work with a diverse patient population learning a variety of skills. Our charge nurse is out of the numbers to provide support and answer questions. Our unit works together as a team to provide excellent care to our patients and their families boasting nurses with all levels of experience, new graduates to those with decades of experience. The unit also has multiple supportive roles as part of the nursing team such as clinical technicians, unit associates, and an inventory clerk. We encourage both professional and personal advancement and offer many opportunities for committee and unit involvement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required
• Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered, provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 4 years of hire
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
• BLS CPR certification required
• No RN work experience required! Training will be provided - All New Grad RNs are automatically enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program ranked #3 in the nation!

Salary Range: Minimum 36.07/hour - Maximum 54.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
