Job Description Summary: Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Job Summary/Purpose: Assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal-directed nursing care to patients and families, utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired outcomes.
Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013, with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing must enroll in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within four years of hire or reclassification.
Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current BLS certification required from AHA or Red Cross.
Physical and Mental Requirements: Includes ability to perform various physical activities, work in different environments, and handle stressful situations. Specific physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces, and maintaining sensory functions.
