Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH seeks a part‑time RN to join the PICU team. The position offers 24 weekly hours, Regular (FTE 0.6), and opportunities to grow through coaching, governance involvement, and interprofessional collaboration.

  • Associate/Diploma RN from an ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA accredited institution with 2+ years of experience.
  • If not holding a BSN or MSN, must enroll in a BSN or MSN program within 1 year of hire date and complete it within 5 years.
  • Active Ohio RN license (may be required to obtain additional state licensure).
  • Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMerit™ per Ohio Board of Nursing code for Foreign Graduates.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, CMS and other applicable policies.
  • Support leadership in compliance initiatives and sustain departmental and hospital compliance efforts.
  • Monitor safety and departmental policies, ensure timely completion of individual certifications and Safety College requirements.
  • Collaborate with department managers, nurse council, magnet representatives and other stakeholders to identify, share and implement safety best practices.
  • Apply clinical judgment by collecting data, following algorithms and protocols, and documenting plans of care and outcomes.
  • Anticipate patient and family needs, integrate age‑specific and culturally inclusive concepts into care planning and delivery.
  • Use self‑management support and teach‑back techniques to facilitate patient and family learning.
  • Engage in clinical inquiry and performance review, including self‑appraisal, peer review and annual goal setting to ensure competence and professional development.
  • Demonstrate openness to coaching, mentoring and participation in peer and student learning experiences.
  • Participate in shared governance and interdisciplinary team meetings, providing input and implementing council decisions.
  • Integrate the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) into all aspects of practice and advocate for patients and families.
  • Recognize and address ethical, moral and cultural conflicts, ensuring inclusion and respect for patient rights.
Job Qualifications
