Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Adult Psychiatric Treatment Unit (APTU) in Springfield, MA. This 28-bed inpatient unit delivers compassionate, evidence-based care to adults with psychiatric disorders within a multidisciplinary team.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists, advocate for patients and families, and participate in committees to enhance care quality and staff satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Board of Registration in Nursing Examination required and licensed in MA.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 year RN experience required.
• Education: ADN required, BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients on a 28-bed inpatient psychiatric unit.
• Assess patients’ physical and mental health needs; develop and implement individualized nursing care plans; monitor treatment progress.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and other team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Advocate for patients, families, and significant others by promoting dignity, safety, informed decision-making, and continuity of care.
• Utilize advanced psychiatric treatment modalities and therapeutic nursing interventions to support stabilization and recovery.
• Participate in teamwork, problem-solving, and accountability initiatives to improve staff satisfaction, productivity, safety, and patient outcomes.
• Contribute clinical insight through committees, councils, and task forces while maintaining nursing autonomy.

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Team at BMC in Springfield, Massachusetts. Our 28 bed Adult Psychiatric Treatment Unit (APTU) offers inpatient treatment for patients ages 18 and older with psychiatric disorders in a safe, secure setting, with working within a multidisciplinary team with advanced treatment modalities, act as an advocate for patients, families and significant others.

The Registered Nurse role offers involvement in teamwork, problem-solving, and accountability, with the goals of improved staff satisfaction, productivity, and patient outcomes. Join committees, councils and task forces that seek your input and expertise while respecting your autonomy.

The Registered Nurse Will:

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to adult patients experiencing psychiatric disorders in a secure 28-bed inpatient treatment unit.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Advocate for patients, families, and significant others by promoting dignity, safety, informed decision-making, and continuity of care.
• Utilize advanced psychiatric treatment modalities and therapeutic nursing interventions to support patient stabilization and recovery.
• Participate in teamwork, problem-solving, and shared accountability initiatives to improve staff satisfaction, productivity, safety, and patient outcomes.
• Contribute professional expertise and clinical insight through participation in committees, councils, and task forces while maintaining nursing autonomy and accountability.

No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
