The ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care of individuals who have a serious mental illness both in the acute and chronic phase. Ability to think critically in situations that require managing multiple priorities. Ability to formulate and implement broad based nursing actions and a variety of individualized treatment interventions in complex care situations. Knowledge and skill in group leadership and dynamics. Ability to supervise performance of and make judgments about performance and provide actionable positive and corrective feedback to others. Ability to delegate effectively and in accordance with regulations. Able to contribute to cohesiveness of work team including accepting feedback from others. Ability to collaborate, problem solve and negotiate with colleagues of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and all departments and disciplines. Ability to utilize effective oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric and physical conditions and biopsychosocial needs of patients and the principles and practices of psychiatric nursing.
