Job summary

Hospice of North Alabama is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Florence, AL team. You will deliver patient-centered hospice care, coordinate with families, and support comfort at the end of life in home or facility settings.

The role emphasizes independent judgment with team collaboration, precise documentation, and adherence to hospice philosophy. A valid Alabama RN license and at least 1 year of nursing experience are required; 3+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure to practice in Alabama.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Hospice or similar setting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/organization requirements and in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients.
• Create hospice care plans that align with the patients’ wishes and goals.
• Direct nursing care: administering medications, treatments, and interventions.
• Provide pain and symptom management.
• Educate and support the patient’s family and caregivers.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Participate in on‑call rotation as required by local branch.
