Job summary

McLaren Health Care’s Hospice department is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a full-time day shift. You will supervise nursing staff indirectly and coordinate care for an assigned group of patients.

Responsibilities include performing basic patient care, administering medications, conducting assessments, and developing a care plan to meet patient goals while addressing learning needs from admission to discharge.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Michigan.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS for certain units.
• Graduate of an approved school of Nursing.
• One year experience in department clinical specialty.
• Current Michigan driver’s license with valid auto insurance and a clear MVR.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care procedures/techniques competently, including administration of medication.
• Performs ongoing assessment data collection focusing on age, physiologic, psychological and cognitive status; reviews data collected by caregivers.
• Develops a plan of care prescribing nursing actions to achieve patient goals and addresses learning needs from admission to discharge.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the quality of patient care provided to an assigned group of patients. Indirectly supervises all nursing personnel assigned to the group of patients for whom he/she is coordinating.

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care procedures/techniques competently, including the administration of medication. Organizes patient care effectively.
• Performs assessment data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on age, physiologic, psychological and cognitive status of the patient. Completes, reviews and evaluates the data collected by caregivers.
• Develops a plan of care that prescribes nursing actions to achieve patient goals. Identifies patient/family learning needs and implements appropriate process from admission to discharge.
