Job summary

Amedisys, Inc. is a leading home health and hospice provider seeking a Registered Nurse for on-call, PRN work with HH/OASIS experience.

You will coordinate and oversee patient care at home, educate families, perform head-to-toe assessments, monitor vitals, administer medications or therapies as needed, supervise LPNs and HHAs, and ensure timely documentation and communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN).
• Current RN license in the state where you work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and insurance.
• Familiarity with computer basics and online HR/training tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborate with patient care teams to implement care plans.
• Educate families on patient condition and needs.
• Perform head-to-toe physical assessments and monitor vitals.
• Administer injections, IV therapy, or tube feedings as needed.
• Supervise LPNs and HHAs and ensure documentation is timely.

Responsibilities

• Checks vital signs and manages medications.
• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feedings.
• Administers and maintains catheters.
• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN). If less than 1 year clinical experience as a RN, candidate must be approved by VP clinical.*
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.

*Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
