Job summary

Riverside Medical Group in Newport News, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the total nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of the Practice Manager and Physician. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for diverse patient populations while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires patient-focused clinical competency, vital signs proficiency, medication reconciliation, and efficient documentation.

Qualifications

• Program Graduate, Diploma or Associate Program graduate (Required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
• 1 year Medical office setting (Preferred).
• ACLS certification and competency in moderate sedation procedures, airway management and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and complete patient assessments.
• Assist providers in consultations, procedures, and follow-up care.
• Document data, assessments and billing codes in the patient record.
• Triage MyChart messages and patient calls; respond same day.
• Delegate and prioritize tasks to ensure safe, quality patient care.
• Provide patient/family health counseling and education.
• Float to other practices within the region as needed for operational support.
