Job summary

Hawaii Pacific Health's Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for a per diem role in the Women’s Cancer Center. The position involves nursing services through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care, with emphasis on gynecologic and breast oncology care.

The successful candidate will have an active Hawai‘i RN license, BLS (ACLS preferred), and at least one year of acute care experience

Qualifications

• Current Hawai’i Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS CPR card.
• One (1) year recent RN experience in adult gynecological and breast chemotherapy administration/infusion in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care.
• Function as an associate to a charge nurse and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities.

Job description

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Kapi‘olani Women's Cancer Center is the only facility of its kind in the state and is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulva, and vaginal cancers. Kapi‘olani strives to provide the highest level of women's cancer care in Hawai‘i and the Women's Cancer Center supports a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, addressing all aspects of a woman's treatment, from her physical health to her mental and emotional well-being. In addition, the Center offers patients the opportunity to participate in state-of-the‑art clinical trials in collaboration with the Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i and the National Cancer Institute. Our highly qualified, multidisciplinary team includes board‑certified, fellowship‑trained GYN oncologists, medical and radiation oncologists, licensed and certified oncology nurses, a gynecologic oncology coordinator to educate patients and assist women through their individualized care plan, certified genetic counselors and other support services.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years recent registered nurse experience in gynecological and breast oncology. Chemotherapy Certification. Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) CPR card.
