Job summary

Backus Hospital, part of Hartford HealthCare, is seeking an experienced RN for a 36-hour-per-week night shift (7pm–7:30am) at E4 Cardiology Telemetry. You will demonstrate clinical competence, perform the nursing process, and build strong nurse-patient relationships to deliver high-quality care. CT license required, BSN preferred.

One year of RN experience (or Nurse Residency). BLS on hire; ACLS/PALS within 90 days. BKAT 80% or cc course within one year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of nursing school with RN license in CT.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; Nurse Residency acceptable.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS within 90 days of hire.
• BKAT score 80% or complete a critical care course within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain department-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process and establish nurse–patient relationships.
• Assess patient needs, plan care, implement and evaluate outcomes.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care and safety.

Job Summary

Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Nursing. BSN preferred
• One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program. Two (2) or more years of experience in this clinical area preferred.
• Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire. Must be able to pass the dysrhythmia test within 3 months of hire.
• Must be able to pass the BKAT with a score of 80% or complete a critical care course within one (1) year of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications.
