Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital's Emily Howatt Pliskatt Pediatric Unit is a leading inpatient pediatric rehabilitation center. The program seeks a graduate nurse enrolled in an RN program, set to graduate spring/summer 2027, who will practice under supervision from an experienced PA-licensed nurse.

The role focuses on nursing process, collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, and compassionate support for children and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Graduate nurse must register and complete the state board examination within 90 days from start date.

Responsibilities

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Emily Howatt Pliskatt Pediatric Unit is a specialized inpatient pediatric rehabilitation leader with programs designed specifically to treat children with complex medical and congenital conditions.

• JOB SUMMARY
• Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and intermultidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. The graduate nurse who holds a TPP must practice under the supervision of an experienced, Pennsylvania registered nurse who is physically present in the unit or area where the graduate nurse is practicing.
• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• IDENTIFIES PATIENT CARE REQUIREMENTS
• By establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
• Uses the nursing process as a framework to deliver care by establishing or contributing to a plan of care with the patient including a teaching plan, within 24 hours of admission

• estimated length of stay, medical diagnoses and discharge plan
