Summary

The Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy Unit is responsible for delivering patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role includes patient and family teaching and leadership in maintaining professional nursing standards in the endoscopy setting.

Responsibilities

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
• Current New York State Professional license required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Completion of cardiac rhythm course or demonstrated competency required

Experience

• Minimum two years of medical/surgical experience required
• Endoscopy or critical care experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS training required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of endoscopy equipment/instruments
• Excellent communication skills and clinical ability
• Competent in assisting with conscious sedation
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Teamwork and case management skills
