The registered professional nurse is responsible for utilizing job skills to effectively carry out the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation, and time management. She/he is responsible for quality communication, teamwork, and professionalism. Additionally, directs, coordinates, and implements patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

A Registered Nurse Per Diem (RN PD) is responsible for the care of the assigned patient population. Requirements include completing yearly mandatory competencies, unit-specific competencies, and Professional Practice Ladder requirements such as assuming charge nurse responsibilities, participating in PI activities, and sharing information with the director/designee and team. Portfolio submission is required annually by March 1st. Routine patient/family satisfaction validation, peer reviews, and educational postings are also part of the role.
Associates Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN) required. Bachelors Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Two years of RN experience required.
RN License required. BLS Certification (American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ - AHA approved) required. Relevant specialty certification is preferred.
