Job summary

Coho Integrated Solutions is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Gastroenterology Clinic at Eglin AFB, Florida. The RN will provide comprehensive clinical care, assist with procedures, and coordinate care with physicians and healthcare teams in a structured military medical facility.

The role requires nursing licensure, ACLS/BLS, and 36+ months of recent clinical nursing experience. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 0630–1530, with no weekend or holiday overtime under standard schedule.

Qualifications

• BSN from an appropriately accredited college or university; candidates with an ADN and a minimum of three years nursing experience may be considered.
• Graduate from a nursing program accredited by NLNAC or CCNE.
• Current, full, valid, and unrestricted RN license
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification per contract requirements.
• Minimum of 36 months of clinical nursing experience within the last 48 months.
• Knowledge of professional nursing practices, patient care standards, documentation requirements, and clinical procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, Outlook, internet applications, and electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive professional nursing care to patients in the Gastroenterology Clinic.
• Perform patient assessments, physical examinations, and health histories.
• Administer medications, wound care, and other nursing interventions.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with and support gastrointestinal procedures, including endoscopic procedures, manometry, conscious sedation, and related patient preparation and recovery.
• Set up, operate, and monitor specialized clinical equipment including IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring equipment, EKG units, oxygen equipment, and endoscopic equipment.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures and respond to adverse signs and emergencies.
• Provide patient education, health promotion, counseling, and follow-up care guidance.
• Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare personnel.
• Complete accurate medical record documentation in accordance with MTF standards and policies.
• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, infection control, and Joint Commission activities.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary team.

Job description

Coho Integrated Solutions is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse – Gastroenterology to provide professional nursing services in support of the 96th Medical Group at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients in the Gastroenterology Clinic, collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals, assist with specialized procedures, and ensure patient care is delivered in accordance with established medical treatment facility (MTF), Air Force, and Joint Commission standards.

The position is scheduled for a 40-hour workweek, typically Monday through Friday between 0600 and 1800, with shifts generally scheduled from 0630 to 1530. Overtime, weekend, and Federal holiday work are not authorized under the standard schedule.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Provide comprehensive professional nursing care to patients in the Gastroenterology Clinic.
• Perform patient assessments, physical examinations, and health histories.
• Administer medications, wound care, and other individualized nursing interventions.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with and support gastrointestinal procedures, including endoscopic procedures, manometry, conscious sedation, and related patient preparation and recovery.

• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship is required for this contract position
• Education and Licensure:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an appropriately accredited college or university; candidates with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and a minimum of three years of nursing experience may be considered.
• Graduate from a nursing program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Current, full, valid, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license meeting the requirements of the state where services are performed.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with applicable contract requirements.
• Required Experience:
• Minimum of 36 months of clinical nursing experience within the last 48 months.
• Required Skill and Competencies:
• Demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing practices, patient care standards, documentation requirements, and clinical procedures.
• Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and make appropriate clinical decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, internet applications, and electronic health records.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population and multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Physical Requirements:
• The employee must be capable of performing the physical duties associated with professional nursing and clinical patient care, including standing, walking, assisting with patient movement and positioning, and operating clinical equipment as required. The employee must be able to respond promptly to clinical emergencies and perform duties within the scope of professional licensure.
