Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Float RN to provide care across 65+ inpatient units at a major academic medical center. This full-time position offers 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM and a $15/hour float differential, plus applicable shift differentials.

Ideal candidates hold an active RN license with at least 2 years of acute Medical-Surgical experience and 2 years in ICU/CCU. ICU float opportunities may occur; hospital is Magnet-certified and renowned for excellence.

Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• 2 years of recent ICU/Critical Care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Promotes patient- and family-centered care and educates on post-treatment home care needs.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team.

Float across 65+ inpatient units at Barnes-Jewish Hospital

• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• $15/hour Float Differential plus applicable shift differentials
• Every third weekend and three holidays per year
• Nurses with ICU experience may float to additional high-acuity and critical care areas

Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.

Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
