Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for night position on the Perioperative Services team at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis.

The role involves direct patient care across cardiac, thoracic and vascular procedures with opportunities to work with world-class surgeons and anesthesiologists. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care, develop care plans, educate patients and families, and participate in safety and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree is required.
• RN licensure in good standing.
• Bachelor's degree is a plus and supports advancement.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents plans of care with interprofessional teams.
• Uses advanced nursing skills to meet patient needs across perioperative services.

Nights Monday-Friday (3/12 hour shifts)

No call, no weekends, 1-2 holidays per year

Cardiac including minimally invasive, heart failure, heart/lung transplants, thoracic, robotics, vascular/endovascular surgery

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
