Qualifications

Registered Nurse - Full-Time, Day Shift

Hours: Day Shift, Full-Time - 7am to 7pm

Compensation: Starting at $32.05/hour - Based on years of experience

Mary Free Bed is a not-for-profit, nationally accredited rehabilitation hospital serving thousands of children and adults each year through inpatient, outpatient, sub-acute rehabilitation, orthotics and prosthetics and home and community programs. Mary Free Bed physicians, nurses and therapists help patients achieve outstanding clinical outcomes.

Mary Free Bed at Covenant Health Care provides inpatient rehabilitation care for patients in the Saginaw and surrounding regions. RNs at this location have the opportunity to receive support from both organizations and follow applicable policies and procedures. The Nursing Department encompasses the care and responsibilities provided by the nursing staff.

Qualifications

Essential Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Education, and Training)

Licensure: Registered nurse in the state of Michigan.

Education: Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Certification as a Registered Rehabilitation Nurse is preferred and encouraged.

Current: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience:

  • Previous RN experience in rehabilitation or acute care preferred but not required.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, delegation, and leadership skills.
  • Time management, organizational, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work under time pressures, solve problems, handle interruptions, and prioritize tasks.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Stand, sit, talk, type, read, and hear; use hands to handle, feel, and carry.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and repositioning for patient care.
  • Ability to exert physical effort to move objects and assist with patient transfer; comply with safety policies for exposure to hazards.
  • Competent with computer systems for documenting patient care.
