Provides direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act.
Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients.
Coordinates psychiatric and/or medical emergencies to ensure proper care for individuals in crisis and safety for all patients.
Acts as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to ensure essential patient care and unit responsibilities are completed.
Administers medications with knowledge of their action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
Assumes the role of Charge Nurse for the shift.
