Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Obstetrics team. You will apply the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care, uphold patient rights, and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff across departments.

The role requires flexibility to work Nights, Evenings, Holidays, and Weekends. Mercy offers sign-on incentives, bridging programs to advance BSN/MSN, and supportive onboarding as you grow within our mission-driven health system.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an approved school of nursing and licensed to practice as an RN.
• Active RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• ACLS, PALS, PEARS, STABLE, BLS certifications required or obtained within 30 days.
• LPN-IV certification completed or course within 3 months of hire.
• Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments and direct care givers.
• Supports obstetrics department Shift coverage including nights, evenings, holidays, weekends.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure:

Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification(s):

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire.
• Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
