Job summary

Elk River Independent School District 728 is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide 1:1 health support for a student at Lincoln Elementary School. Responsibilities include monitoring health needs, administering medications, and coordinating with family and school staff throughout the school day.

The RN will work under the direction of LSN and tailored health plans, ensuring timely responses to medical needs and meticulous documentation of all care delivered.

Qualifications

• Requires A.A., B.S., or M.S. degree in nursing.
• RN certification by Minnesota Board of Nursing required.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Experience with medications administration, health monitoring, tracheostomy care, suctioning, respiratory status, seizure monitoring, vent, and g-tube feedings.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 nursing care for the student during the school day.
• Monitor vital signs and health status per health plan.
• Administer medications as ordered by physician and trained by LSN.

Description: Responsible for providing 1:1 nursing care, including monitoring and treatment, for individual student(s) with medical needs, as determined by the district, during the school day. Work closely with the family and school staff to implement appropriate health care plans and respond to any medical needs that may arise during the school day.

Job Summary:

• Monitor health condition of student, as directed by LSN and Individual Health Plan.
• Monitor vital signs of student, as needed.
• Administer medications as ordered by Physician and trained by LSN. Provide prompt medical attention to illnesses and injuries of student.
• Communicate with staff and parents, as appropriate.
• Ensure proper documentation of student medications and treatments to be administered, as prescribed daily and as needed. Record and report illnesses and injuries that may arise.
• Assist student with Activities of Daily Living, including educational needs as appropriate. Redirect student as needed and directed by classroom teacher.
• Provide student health assessment as needed.
• Provide student care as outlined in individual health plan.
• Provide prompt medical attention to illnesses and injuries of the student.
• Communicate with staff and parents as needed.
• Ensure proper documentation of student medications and treatments to be administered during the school day.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Requires A.A , B.S., or M.S. degree in nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) certification by Minnesota Board of Nursing required.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Experienced RN including medication administration, health monitoring, tracheostomy care, tracheostomy suctioning, respiratory status assessment, seizure monitoring, vent experience and g-tube feedings.
• Skilled in health and medical assessment for student's health needs.

Working Conditions: Work is performed under normal office conditions and there are minimal environmental risks or disagreeable conditions associated with the work. Work involves continuous contacts and interactions with the public, staff, outside agencies, district administrators and others which can involve some disagreeable human interactions/conflicts.

Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate.
