Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver direct, comprehensive nursing care on an assigned unit. You will guide LVNs, technicians, and other staff, advocate for patients, and take Charge Nurse responsibilities when needed.

Qualifications include ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale within specified timelines and an RN license. A associate degree is required, with Texas licensure or eligibility to practice in Texas.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BCLS certifications must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse license must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree is required for eligibility
• Texas RN license or eligibility is required to practice

Responsibilities

• Direct and deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on an assigned unit.
• Provide guidance and supervision to LVNs, Nursing Technicians, Nursing Assistants and Unit Secretaries.
• Act as patient advocate within the hospital environment.
• Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities and accept assignments on other units when necessary

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to direct and deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on an assigned unit in a safe and proficient manner according to individual patient needs. Provides direct patient care based upon South Austin Medical Center Hospital Standards of Care and Standards of Practice, Policies, Procedures and Practice Guidelines. Provides guidance and supervision to Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Nursing Technicians, Nursing Assistants and Unit Secretaries. He/she acts as patient and advocate with the Hospital environment. Assumes Charge Nurse responsibilities and accepts assignments on other units when necessary.
