Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a compassionate registered nurse to join our team in Shawnee, Kansas. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and supervise nursing staff to deliver safe, high-quality care.

The role emphasizes patient education and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates hold an RN license and a BSN is preferred; a strong background in acute hospital settings is expected.

Job Description

Sign-On Bonus: $10,000.00 For eligible candidates

Float Pool Differential $5.00/Hour

• Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate patient conditions and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to address identified patient needs and goals.
• Administer medications accurately and appropriately as ordered, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions as necessary.
• Supervise and guide nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
• Provide patient and family education about the care plan, medications, procedures, and other relevant information to ensure understanding and compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs.
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills).
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Equipment use to stabilize and monitor patients (IV insertion, central lines, pulse ox, NG tubes, Foley, chest tubes, hemodynamics monitoring), including electronic medical record and automated dispensing medication system (pyxis).
