Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care in an acute setting. The role may float to all SMHCS hospital campuses, applying standards of practice and patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, has 2 years of nursing experience, and completes ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and BLS/CPR within specified timeframes, while maintaining basic computer skills for charting and documentation.

Qualifications

• BSN required or completed within policy timeframe for new hires after 2012.
• Two years of relevant nursing experience.
• ACLS within six months of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification within 30 days of hire.
• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMHCS) nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. May float to all Sarasota Memorial Health Care System hospital campuses.

Required Qualifications

• Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Require two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• Require successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia test within 90 days of employment.
• Require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire.
• Require National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
• Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer certification in nursing specialty area.
