Beloit Health System is seeking a compassionate Per Diem - Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Family Care Center. You will provide skilled nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Level II Nursery, Postpartum, and Pediatric services, supporting mothers and newborns through labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and discharge planning.

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN accepted.
  • Current Wisconsin RN license, Compact RN license, or temporary permit required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Level II Nursery, Postpartum, and Pediatric services.
  • Assess and monitor mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
  • Perform fetal monitoring and maternal assessments to identify and respond to changes in patient status.
  • Support laboring patients through education, comfort measures, pain management interventions, and emotional support.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care during delivery and recovery.
  • Deliver comprehensive postpartum and newborn care, including assessments, education, and discharge planning.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments while evaluating patient responses and documenting outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, newborn care, recovery expectations, and wellness practices.
  • Coordinate care and prioritize patient needs based on clinical condition and acuity.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Promote a safe care environment by adhering to patient safety standards, infection prevention practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, professional development activities, and unit-based competencies.

In this rewarding role, you'll provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. You'll collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality, family-centered care.

As a Registered Nurse in our Family Care Center, you will provide comprehensive nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Level II Nursery, Postpartum, and Pediatric services. This is an exciting opportunity to support patients and families through some of life's most important moments while working alongside a skilled and collaborative healthcare team.

As Registered Nurse in the Family Care Center you will:

  • Assess and monitor the condition of mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
  • Perform fetal monitoring and maternal assessments to identify and respond to changes in patient status.
  • Support laboring patients through education, comfort measures, pain management interventions, and emotional support.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care during delivery and recovery.
  • Deliver comprehensive postpartum and newborn care, including assessments, education, and discharge planning.

Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN accepted.
  • Current Wisconsin RN license, Compact RN license, or temporary permit required. Nurses holding a Compact License must apply for Wisconsin licensure within 30 days of hire.
  • CPR certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • One to two years of Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby, Pediatric, or Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred.
  • PALS and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certifications required within 12 months of hire.
  • NRP within required within 6 months of hire.
Additional Requirements:

When scheduled for on-call coverage, must be able to arrive at the Family Care Center within 30 minutes of being called in.
