Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan duties on assigned shift
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plans
• Make rounds with physician and convey patient status
• Transcribe and implement physician orders
• Document nursing assessments and interventions in EMR
• Administer medications and monitor responses
• Assist Veterans with transfers, positioning, feeding, hygiene, and mobility
• Assist on admission and discharge processes

Pay:

• Day shift: $38.92 - $41.80/hour
• Evening and night shift: $42.42 - $45.56/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience

Examples of Work:

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of status of patients and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician’s orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in electronic medical record (EMR)
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician accurately with follow‑up observations
• Assist Veteran with various needs such as transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing and showering, etc.
• Assist Veteran upon admission and/or discharge

Qualifications:

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse – in good standing; or
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing
