Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) in Cynthiana, Kentucky, seeks a Registered Nurse for Endoscopy in Surgical Services. The RN delivers safe, compassionate care, coordinates patient treatment, administers meds, and collaborates with the care team in a fast-paced specialty area.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in nursing, an active Kentucky RN license, and BLS/ACLS within 6 months; Endoscopy experience and strong teamwork are valued.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on individualized needs.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to physicians and appropriate personnel.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments accurately.
• Document all patient care activities in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to develop care plans.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and follow infection control protocols.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Job Skills / Requirements

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients in accordance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory guidelines. The RN coordinates patient care, monitors patient conditions, administers medications and treatments, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on individualized needs.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes in status to physicians and appropriate personnel.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments accurately and safely.
• Perform nursing interventions and procedures according to hospital protocols and standards of care.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, post-discharge care, and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians, providers, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Adherent to infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and staff meetings.

Role Minimum Qualifications

Required Education

• Associate’s degree in nursing

Required Licensure and Certifications – At Hire

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication, teamwork, and time management skills
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Prior experience with Endoscopy

Preferred Qualifications

• MS, Surgery, OB, ICU, Cath Lab, ED, or other Critical Care experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
