Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare in Carbondale, IL seeks a professional registered nurse to provide nursing care for SIH patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate to Master’s degree in Nursing and an active Illinois RN license with current CPR/BLS. ACLS within 6 months, PALS, ECRN and unit certifications may be required within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for SIH patients.
• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain optimum health level.
• Demonstrate clinical judgement and critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records.
• Contribute to development of policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses and/unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Advocate for patients by communicating with other health service professionals.
• Complete required education, competencies, and licensure on time.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.
