Job summary

Gastromed,-LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Endoscopy Center. The RN provides individualized nursing care, supports assessment, treatment, and ongoing patient care per physician orders and center policies.

The role requires collaboration with physicians and staff, strong clinical judgment, and a focus on quality patient care and safety. Experience in endoscopy or related procedures is preferred and adherence to HIPAA and infection control is essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • Two to three years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR, email, e-fax systems, and related applications.
  • Proficient PPE usage and infection control practices.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.

Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy Center

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Endoscopy Center team. The RN is responsible for providing safe, individualized nursing care and supporting the assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of assigned patients.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse provides individualized and specialized nursing care to patients in the Endoscopy Center in accordance with physician orders, recognized nursing standards and techniques, applicable state nursing practice requirements, and the Center’s policies and procedures.

The Registered Nurse works collaboratively with physicians and staff, demonstrates effective teamwork, and exercises appropriate initiative, clinical judgment, and decision-making to promote quality patient care and patient safety.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR), email, e-fax systems, and other programs and applications required to perform job duties accurately.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
ABILITIES/SKILLS:
  • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of emergency equipment and medications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, computers, and applications necessary to perform assigned responsibilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greet patients and escort them to the appropriate examination or treatment area.
  • Properly identify patients using two patient identifiers.
  • Verify the reason for the visit and obtain required patient consent.
  • Interview patients and obtain and document vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
  • Document current medications, allergies, and relevant medical history in the patient's medical record.
  • Recognize abnormal vital signs or changes in patient condition and promptly report findings to the physician.
  • Perform and assist with manometry, anorectal manometry, capsule studies, infusions, and Bravo procedures, as applicable.
  • Administer medications accurately and in accordance with physician orders.
  • Accurately document nursing interventions, including the administration of medications, drugs, and solutions.
  • Provide for the patient's physical comfort and safety throughout care.
  • Wear appropriate attire and required PPE, including gowns, gloves, and masks, in accordance with facility policy.
  • Escort patients to the appropriate check-out area.
  • Follow up with specialty pharmacies regarding pending prescriptions and authorizations.
  • Assist patients with questions or concerns and provide appropriate follow-up.
  • Complete patient callbacks before the end of the day, as applicable.
  • Complete assigned tasks and actions accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Report malfunctioning medical equipment and safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
  • Clean and disinfect patient examination and treatment areas and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Properly store medications and identify and remove expired medications in accordance with established procedures.
  • Notify the supervisor of clinical supply and inventory needs.
  • Comply with Infection Control and OSHA requirements, including biomedical waste handling and disposal.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Conduct all activities in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
