Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, Florida, is seeking an experienced RN to join our acute care team. The role focuses on endoscopy support, patient assessment, documentation, and collaboration with physicians and the interprofessional team.

The position requires an active RN license, BLS, and 1+ year of acute care nursing experience. PALS is preferred; weekend and call hours may apply. Competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Active RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• PALS preferred.
• 1+ year acute care nursing experience required.
• 2+ years endoscopy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: M-F 630-1500 with call requirements.
• Promotes a healthy and safe environment for patients.
• Assists physicians and providers during procedures.
• Monitors patient health status and responds to changes.
• Communicates with patient and team for continuity of care.
• Mentors staff and documents nursing care accurately.
• Assesses health data and plans nursing interventions.
• Provides education to patients and families.
• Administers and evaluates treatments.
• Adjusts care plans as needed and performs other duties.

Job Description

• Schedule: M-F 630-1500 with call requirements
• Promotes a healthy and safe environment for patients.
• Assists physicians and advanced providers during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Recognizes and responds appropriately to changes in patient health status.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively with the patient and interprofessional team to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Acts as a resource and mentor for other staff members.
• Documents nursing care accurately and completely.
• Assesses and documents patient health data systematically.
• Establishes nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.
• Plans and implements individualized nursing interventions.
• Provides education to patients, families, and caregivers before, during, and after procedures.
• Administers and evaluates pharmacological and therapeutic treatments.
• Evaluates outcomes of nursing interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to function at a high level in a physically demanding, high-stress environment
• Demonstrated ability to work under stressful conditions
• Ability to work irregular hours including call hours
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft® Word and the ability to navigate Microsoft Windows based programs
• Displays working knowledge of endoscopic techniques
• Experience in critical care environments such as ICU, CCU, PCU, PACU, or similar settings is [Preferred]
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic documentation is [Preferred]

Work Experience
