Job summary

Mercy South Surgery Center seeks an RN to provide patient care using the nursing process and to coordinate with other departments. The role emphasizes maintaining patient rights and confidentiality and upholding Mercy Service Standards.

Graduate nurses with an RN license and BLS certification are preferred; 4/10 shifts with no weekends or holidays. Pre-Op/PACU experience is valued as well as strong teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting state board requirements.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or within 30 days of hire.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process with accountability for assigned patients.
• Evaluate and coordinate patient care with other departments and direct caregivers.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality consistent with Mercy standards.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment to ensure high-quality care.

Job description

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Mercy South Surgery Center, 4 10's- No Weekends, Holidays, Call- Pre Op/PACU Experience preferred

Education:

Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

Licensure:

Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical requirements/demands:

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
