Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Services department in Grand Ledge to deliver high-quality care during evening shifts (10:00 am–10:00 pm). Responsibilities include assessing patients, planning and implementing plans of care, and supervising ancillary staff.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, Michigan RN license, and ACLS/NRP/PALS per unit requirements or within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered; ACLS/NRP/PALS timeframes may apply.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS required within specified timeframes for ED unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess each patient, document response to care, and take corrective action.
• Plan and implement the patient’s plan of care and provide teaching.
• Oversee ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Registered Nurse - Emergency Services Grand Ledge

Department: Emergency Services Grand Ledge

Shift: Evenings

Daily Work Times: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm

Scheduled Biweekly Hours: 72

Position Summary:

Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Assesses each assigned patient, documents and evaluates their response to plan of care, and takes appropriate corrective action.

2. Plans and implements the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provides patient teaching using the plan of care/standard of care.

3. Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered. Experience specific to the unit/position may be required to maintain overall competency level of unit, as required by regulatory agency.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• Within six months of hire into department, ACLS required for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, Telemetry Floats. NRP required for RNs in Labor and Delivery; and PALS required for RNs in Pediatrics; PALS and TNCC within one year for the Emergency Department.

Preferred:

• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS preferred in other units.
