Job summary

Novant Health's Kernersville Medical Center is seeking a dedicated registered nurse for the Emergency Department, nights 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across a broad range of urgent conditions.

You will join a collaborative multidisciplinary team, participate in rapid assessment and stabilization, administer medications, and educate patients and families while upholding safety and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in appropriate state required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; active RN license.
• One year of relevant emergency or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate targeted patient care in the ED.
• Provide timely nursing interventions for urgent and emergent conditions.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments per care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to stabilize patients.
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the ED experience.
• Promote patient safety, clinical excellence and high‑quality emergency care.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
