Job summary

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) at vTech Solution provides skilled nursing care to a diverse patient population across low to high acuity cases in a Level II Trauma Center. You will perform patient assessments, administer medications, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Requires at least 2 years of ER/critical care experience, active RN license in the state of practice, proficiency with Epic, and certifications

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in emergency or critical care settings.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient conditions in the ER setting.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and support staff.
• Manage emergency situations including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and behavioral health crises.
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic electronic medical records.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and care procedures.
• Participate in unit float assignments as required.
• Adhere to hospital policies including infection control, safety standards, and patient privacy.

The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center environment. The nurse must possess strong communication skills, be flexible with scheduling including weekends and holidays, and hold all required certifications. At least 2 years of relevant experience and proficiency in Epic charting are required.

Special Considerations

• Work includes weekends and holidays; flexibility is highly encouraged.
• Float assignments required within unit or facility.
• Strict dress code: any scrub color allowed except reddish orange.
• Local candidates not accepted; relocation or travel restrictions apply.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application and is subject to approval.

Scheduling

• Shift options include 3 or 4 twelve-hour day shifts per week.
• Guaranteed minimum of 60 hours per two-week pay period.
• Shift assignments based on unit needs and nurse availability.
