CommonSpirit Health seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO.

The RN will coordinate care with the healthcare team, communicate with patients and families, and ensure high-quality, compassionate nursing within a Magnet-designated trauma center. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to nursing standards, collaboration, and the ability to apply the nursing process in a fast-paced environment, including trauma and critical care

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
• Active and unencumbered RN license in state of employment
• BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
• NIHSS required
• ENPC or PALS required
• NRP required
• One year RN ED experience
• TCAR or TNCC within one year of hire

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Evaluate patient responses and interventions; develop care plans with the team.
• Demonstrate competency in IVs, wound care, meds, catheterization, specimen collection.
• Document status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in charting.
• Educate patients and families; promote health and safety; advocate for patient rights.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our RN, you will assume responsibility for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient, advancing modern nursing through compassionate care.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with a commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to apply the nursing process effectively within a supportive, mission-driven environment.

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome. Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV’s, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
• Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient. Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability.
• Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.

We are offering a $20,000 sign on in addition to up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

• 90 FTE-FT nights-7pm-7:30am

Required

The Emergency Department at St. Anthony Hospital, one of our proud Magnet designated hospitals, is a verified American College of Surgeons’ Level I Trauma Center. We are a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center and a cardiac receiving center. We are a high-volume ED treating a variety of medical and cardiac conditions with 46 beds and approximately 58,000 visits per year.
