Job description

Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for all aspects of the nursing process in direct patient care and supervision. The nurse coordinates care with a focus on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include administering medications and procedures per policies and guidelines, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to improve care outcomes, and actively participating in quality improvement and customer service initiatives at the unit or program level.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• English Language Proficiency
• Graduation from an approved school of professional nursing, accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• OR enrollment in a master's level bridge program in nursing with coursework equivalent to a bachelor's degree, with the opportunity to become registered prior to program completion
• Upon licensure, appointment can be on a temporary basis with potential for permanent appointment after graduation
• For foreign graduates, possession of a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration
• Credit for foreign education requires validation from a recognized evaluation service
• Current unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in the US
• Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception allows appointment without licensure while pursuing it, on a temporary basis

Duties

• Provide competent, evidence-based care to patients in the Emergency Department (ED)
• Delegate and supervise care provided by licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel
• Assist in nursing education, orientation, and quality improvement initiatives
• Deliver urgent and emergent care for various medical, surgical, and psychiatric conditions
• Engage in direct care, education, administration, research, consultation, leadership, and advocacy roles
• Evaluate practice and provide feedback to peers
• Create a safe environment for professional development
• Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and contribute to optimal outcomes
• Share knowledge to ensure safe, quality care
• Assess patients, develop care plans, and implement interventions including health education and promotion
• Evaluate progress and modify care plans as needed
