Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy unit in the Ambulatory Surgical Services at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. This full-time day shift role includes a 0700-1730 schedule with weekday coverage and weekend/holiday call rotation.

The Emergency Response Team requires timely reporting within 30 minutes of call, and the unit emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Accredited nursing program and Indiana RN license required.
  • Within 5 years of employment, BSN or specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care in the Endoscopy/ASU unit.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, compassionate care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions and outcomes.
  • Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning.

What You'll Do

As a Registered Nurse, you'll report to the Director or Manager to provide professional nursing services in the area of assignment, assess the needs of patients and initiates, and implement and evaluate individualized plans of care. You will collaborate with other professional, clinical, and ancillary staff in providing compassionate and quality care to patients.

Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities

What You Bring

As a Registered Nurse, you'll bring a high level of knowledge and competency in performing nursing care procedures, assessments, treatment, and techniques and your advanced analytical skills are necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care. You demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors, physicians, and others. You demonstrate the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner. You have an understanding of the need to be responsive and reasonably adaptable for scheduling purposes, when necessary, due to extenuating circumstances in support of co-workers and department functions.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited nursing program and RN license in the state of Indiana

Within 5 years of employment as an RN, obtain a BSN or certification in your area of specialty
