Job summary

Norwalk Hospital Association is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department. The RN collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to assess needs, plan care, and evaluate outcomes.

The successful candidate will document nursing plans, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in shift handoffs and rounds. CT RN license and BLS are required, with opportunities for specialty certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's Level Degree (required) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Current and unobstructed Connecticut Registered Nurse License (CT Hospitals).
• American Nurses Association endorsed Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient assessment and reassessment with detailed documentation.
• Administers medications with adherence to the Five Rights and documents responses.
• Coordinates and supervises nursing care and delegation of tasks.
• Promotes a culture of safety and conducts bedside shift reports and rounds.
• Delivers patient-centered care, respecting diversity and maintaining open communication.
• Meets accreditation, regulatory, and compliance responsibilities.
