Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a registered nurse with ICU/critical care experience to deliver comprehensive patient care and lead a nursing team. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while documenting in the EMR and ensuring patient safety.

Collaboration with clinicians and families is essential to achieve optimal outcomes. Requirements include an Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), Florida RN license, and strong critical thinking.

Qualifications

  • Critical care experience and ability to lead within a unit.
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR and EPIC preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate Windows-based programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

  • Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
  • Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
