Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston’s Brighton ED is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. This full-time role involves 36 hours per week with Day/Evening shifts and every 3rd weekend.

You will assess, educate, document, and coordinate care with inter-professional teams. Requires 1+ year ER experience, a nursing degree (Diploma/ASN/BSN), and BLS/ACLS/PALS certification; strong communication and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

  • Nursing degree required: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred).
  • Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • 1+ years of Emergency RN experience required.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care in the Emergency Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
  • Update and manage patient records.
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.

Position: Registered Nurse Department: Emergency Department Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day/Evening (every 3rd weekend required)

Compensation Range: $39.80- $93.69 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
