Position Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, delivering, and managing direct patient care, adhering to nursing standards within a specific unit or clinical area.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Nursing Process: Utilizes the nursing process for patient care management, maintains patient assignments, communicates effectively, involves patients and families, documents care, and coordinates care plans.
2. Clinical Practice: Implements medical/nursing plans, demonstrates pharmacology knowledge, maintains competency with technology, and ensures safety and infection control.
3. Collaboration: Delegates responsibilities appropriately, fosters teamwork, and works flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
4. Climate: Establishes a positive environment, demonstrates professionalism, participates in quality improvement, and pursues professional development.
5. Job Responsibilities for All Staff: Supports hospital mission, maintains attendance, exhibits professionalism, adheres to policies, and contributes to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of recognized Nursing school; BSN preferred.
• 2-3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• Current Massachusetts RN license required.
• Specialty certification desired.
