Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a registered nurse (RN) to deliver and coordinate evidence-based care across the patient care continuum. The RN will assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care and improve operational efficiency.

The role adheres to ANA standards and the organization's Code of Ethics. Requires an ASN; BSN preferred, and an active Indiana RN license or NLC license, with BLS

Qualifications

• ASN or BSN nursing degree; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in Indiana or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program; exceptions may apply with >2 years acute care experience subject to CNO review.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA; additional advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit.

• Provide and coordinate competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Participate in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care.

Job description

The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
