Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a clinically skilled Registered Nurse to provide and coordinate evidence-based care along the patient care continuum. The role involves assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, with active participation in teaching and mentoring within a multidisciplinary team.

The RN must hold an Indiana RN license (or NLC) and have graduated from a nationally accredited program; ASN is required and BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• RN must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program; exceptions for >2 years acute care experience may be considered subject to review by CNO.
• Basic Life Support certification through the AHA is required.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department.

Overview

The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
