Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of Emergency or Critical Care experience in an acute care facility.
• Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA) certifications required.
• NIHSS required within first week (5 days) of hire.
• CEN encouraged.
• CPI certified within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ clinical presentation and provide timely ED nursing care.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments across physical, psychological and social needs.
• Coordinate care with physicians, case managers and ancillary staff.

RN – Emergency Dept.

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse performs assessments appropriate to the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age, development level, and cultural and religious orientation in a timely manner. Performs assessments completely and accurately including, but not limited to, physical (i.e. assessment for pain, skin breakdown, risk for falls), psychological (i.e. cognitive and communicative skills or development), social status and other patient needs.
