Job summary

Meeting Street in Rhode Island is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time, 40-hour week to support infants and toddlers.

You will work within a multidisciplinary EI team, develop IFSPs, and coordinate family-centered care, with strong emphasis on development, health literacy, and inclusive practice.

The role requires pediatric CPR/First Aid, RI RN license, and 1 year of experience; hours 8:30–4:45, Monday to Friday; generous benefits include PTO, holidays, and healthcare options.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-year related experience working with infants and toddlers from birth to age 5.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island.
  • Valid pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Participates in the orientation process for the agency and attends the state required Intro to EI training within the first year of employment.
  • Position hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:45 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets screening results focusing on a child’s functional capabilities and explains findings to families.
  • Adapts the environment and designs assistive devices to support development.
  • Develops and implements IFSP with the family and EI team.
  • Creates therapeutic activities to support development and minimize impairment.
  • Involves families throughout evaluation and IFSP processes.
  • Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to plan evaluations and IFSP.
  • Conducts evaluations using standard protocols to aid eligibility and IFSP development.
  • Maintains ongoing partnership with the family and communicates with EI team and medical/community contacts.

Meeting Street is currently looking for a Registered Nurse for 40 hours per week.

Duties
  • Demonstrates competence in interpreting results of screening and evaluation in terms of a child’s functional capabilities with an emphasis on self-help skills, fine and gross motor development, mobility, sensory integration, behavior, play and oral-motor functioning and explains results to families in a mindful manner incorporating health literacy.
  • Creates adaptation of the environment for infants or toddler sand selects, designs, and fabricates assistive devices to facilitate development and promote the acquisition of functional skills with respect to the family's culture and traditions.
  • Develops and implements appropriate treatment plan (IFSP) with the family and EI team.
  • Develops therapeutic activities and programs to prevent or minimize the impact of initial or future impairment, delay in development or loss of functional ability.
  • Actively includes family throughout the entire evaluation/assessment and IFSP process.
  • Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to gather and organize information from multiple sources to plan an individualized evaluation/assessment and IFSP.
  • Administers a variety of discipline-specific evaluation/assessment procedures using specific protocols and best practices to gather further information to assist in determining eligibility and IFSP development.
  • Coordinates and maintains a partnership with the family. Demonstrates consistent communication with EI team, medical and community contacts in a professional, inclusive, compliant, and timely manner.
