Job summary

Mission Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the K8 General Surgery Med-Surg Unit in Asheville, NC. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting, coordinating with a collaborative team to ensure safe, effective outcomes for surgical patients.

The role emphasizes leadership, clinical excellence, and ongoing education within a strong learning environment.

Qualifications

• BSN is required or must be enrolled and obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• Current RN licensure with North Carolina Board of Nursing; eNLC may apply.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• National Certification in a specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to deliver professional nursing care.
• Utilize nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
• Maintain knowledge of meds, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
