Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC invites a registered nurse to join the K8 General Surgery Med-Surg Unit as Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC). This fast-paced unit handles high-acuity pre- and post-surgical patients with emphasis on teamwork and patient-centered care.

As CNC, you will direct nursing care, collaborate with management, support staffing and scheduling, and coach staff to deliver high-quality outcomes in a magnet-designated environment that values learning and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• 1+ years applicable experience
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Current RN licensure in NC or compact license; eNLC may apply
• BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit, in collaboration with management.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to foster teamwork and improve outcomes.
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
• Support nursing strategies, including hourly rounds and other initiatives.
• Provide recommendations related to interviewing, training, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions to improve the organization.
• Assist with staff scheduling and labor planning.
• Support inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
