Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Proctor 2 Dissociative Disorders/Trauma Unit is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide immediate and long-term nursing care in a fast-paced setting. You will assess needs, communicate findings to the healthcare team, and participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning to support recovery goals.

You will administer medications safely, document interventions, and mentor staff while maintaining patient privacy and delivering compassionate, evidence-based care

Qualifications

• Active RN license or eligible in Massachusetts.
• Nursing degree required or Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Utilizing the nursing process, responsibility for providing for immediate and long-term nursing care needs of patients within the standards of the department, hospital and regulatory agencies.

• Performs point of care testing.

• Identifies patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis; utilizes non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate a crisis situation.


• Accurately plans nursing interventions for assigned patients.


• Modifies and individualizes Nursing Plan of Care and protocols.


• Participates in the development of the multidisciplinary treatment plan.


• Demonstrates ability to prioritize patient care needs.


• Partners with patients/families to support recovery goals.


• Provides and implements nursing care interventions.


• Establishes a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients.

• Accurately communicate patients' clinical status at clinical team rounds and change of shift reports.


• Utilizes evidence-based nursing knowledge to guide practice decisions.


• Provides a leadership role in organizing and providing patient care.


• Provides direction and supervision of MHSs.

• Assumes a leadership role in medical and psychiatric emergencies.


• Promotes/provides for critical incident de-briefing following emergency event.
