Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Dialysis Unit to deliver comprehensive dialysis care to neonates through adolescents, including PD, HD, and CRRT, within a nationally recognized program.

You will work 40 hours weekly across 10-hour shifts, participate in on-call coverage, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and provide family education while advancing patient-centered dialysis services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience; dialysis experience preferred (adult or pediatric).
• Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Responsibilities

• Provide dialysis care across inpatient units, ICUs, and chronic outpatient unit.
• Educate patients and families about dialysis care and treatment options.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists to coordinate care.
• Work 40 hours per week with 10-hour shifts, plus one overnight on-call shift per week and rotating Sunday on-call coverage.

Position Summary

The Dialysis Unit at Boston Children’s provides a spectrum of dialysis care to both chronic outpatients as well as acute inpatients. We support patients with peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) from neonates to adolescents. We have had the distinction of achieving the highest rank in the US News and World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals Nephrology Specialty for many years.

Key Responsibilities

• Working in a busy and highly regulated Dialysis Program for a patient population of infants to adolescents.
• Providing dialysis care across inpatient units, all ICU’s as well as chronic outpatient unit.
• Patient and family education.
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team including dietitians, social workers, child life specialist, pharmacy, etc., to coordinate care.
• Working 40 hours per week: Monday through Saturday, 10-hour shifts. On call requirement is one overnight shift/week; rotating Sunday on-call coverage.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

A bachelor's degree in nursing

Experience

Minimum of 1 year RN experience required. Dialysis experience preferred (adult or pediatric), inpatient pediatric experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications

Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
